The last 24th of May, we lived an unforgettable journey at Club de Golf Costa Brava because of the official opening of our new driving range.
About 350 people joined us in a special ceremony, discovering first hand a long aimed and dreamt project which has finally come true.
We were honoured to have the presence of important people such as Josep Xifre, Santa Cristina d’Aro´s mayor; Narcís Casassa, Girona’s territorial Sports representative, and Ramón Nogué, in representation of the Golf Catalan Federation. Next to them, there were plenty of members, contributors and friends who shared a beautiful afternoon fulfilled with excitement, pride and celebration.
The event started with an emotive video that made a review of the whole building process of the practice range. It was followed by the institutionary speeches, the expected inaugural putts and a cocktail with a relaxed and festive environment.
The inaugural putts were made by the following:
- Narcís Casassa, in representation of Girona’s territorial Sports
- Josep Xifre, Santa Cristina d’Aro’s mayor
- Ramón Nogué, from Golf Catalan Federation
- Emilio Coco, CG Costa Brava’s president
- Isabel Ordeix, the eldest attending female member.
- Guillermo Arola, the eldest male member
- Blanca Olano, the female member with the oldest age
- Pere Illa, the male member with the oldest age
- Ángela Soria, the youngest female member
- Zoan Crehuet, the youngest male member
After years of collective effort, we are pleased to finally have made this enormously expected project come to life. The driving range represents, without any doubt, a huge qualitative improvement in our sportive and social offer.
